Great Gifts from Mexico

The Aztecs had built a great empire that ruled over ‘Maseoamerica’ until the Spaniards renamed it Mexico. Gifts from the Aztecs to the world’s kitchens include Chocolate, Corn, Courgettes, Tomatoes, Turkey, Chiles, Beans and of course the flour and corn tortilla that is now one of the biggest selling bread products in the West.

Mexican Cooking
It may surprise you to know that a lot of authentic Mexican food is not usually spicy at all. This menu reflects this with the majority of dishes bursting with bold and complex flavours but no chile. Oaxaca, Mexico City, Pacific Coast and Yucatan are all regions of Mexico that offer very different styles of cooking. There are many casseroles, grilled meat and fish dishes that are quite distinctive to their region. Of course, there is also the Tex Mex style which is a confluence of two cultures. Mexican cooking has so much more to offer than you have come to expect.

Healthy Eating
Foods naturally high in protein, fibre and nutrition like pumpkin seeds, butternut squash, sweet potatoes, tomatillos, pulses, citrus fruits, herbs, green vegetables and chiles, of all shapes and sizes, are known to boost your immune system and are the kind of food we should be eating as part of a healthy balanced diet. Also, the corn tortilla is naturally gluten free, which is great for people that have an intolerance to wheat - all these items and more are featured in this menu.
